Social Media with a Strategic Twist

While social media sites like LinkedIn provide professionals a platform to network with one another and Twitter offers brief updates on ‘What are you working on?’, it is questionable whether the connections have enabled professional growth and positively impacted businesses' bottom line. That is why Strategic Planning consultant, Susan K. Wehrley, and former Founder and CEO of Fiserv, George Dalton, have teamed up to create BIZremedies, an online Collaboration Hub for Strategic Growth that just launched last week.

BIZremedies will be the Business Social Media site that brings business leaders, their employees and other like-minded professionals together to collaborate on workplace obstacles and opportunities to answer the question: ‘How might we grow?’ The site not only includes the typical online profiles seen on social media sites, but takes the experience to the next level by offering five strategic ways to grow: through the Leadership Hub, the Employee Engagement Hub, the Consultant Hub, the Best Practices Hub and the Project Hub.

The BIZremedies Leadership Hub offers companies the opportunity to provide their managers- at every level- leadership skills through a 5-step Employee Engagement training video, featuring Susan K. Wehrley and George Dalton. Wehrley serves as the trainer throughout the video while Dalton shares business best practices from his experience growing Fiserv from 206 employees to 26,000 employees. In addition, monthly webinars and daily forums are included in the Leadership Hub to provide collaboration for peers within the same level of management.

For companies who are ready to engage their employees and effectively apply the practices learned in the Leadership Hub, they can sign up for the BIZremedies Employee Engagement Hub and immediately begin to collaborate with employees and customers on the company’s vision, mission, values, goals and the key initiatives needed to make those goals a reality. The online Employee Engagement Hub promotes collaboration between employees and management and therefore creates “buy-in” to the Strategic Plan and daily management of it because they helped to build it.

“Our program ensures this “buy-in” to the Strategic Plan and daily attention to the initiatives occurs because we engage employees in the process from the very beginning to the end,” says Wehrley. In addition to the Strategic Planning and Management function of the Employee Engagement Hub, there is a ROI (Return on Investment) Calculator; a Performance Review and Performance Planning Tool; and a Recognition Board so employees can continually collaborate and praise one another for their contribution. “The Recognition Board adds an element of social media fun, as people continually post updates on what they are working on and praise one another for their contribution. This creates a strong connection in the company: one that is collaborative and fun, and therefore ensures the system will be used,” says Wehrley.

And if that’s not enough, BIZremedies offers an online Best Practices Hub for Managers and Employees to access for free to find answers to everyday work issues. The Best Practices Hub will be launched in July after BIZremedies qualifies the expert consultants who will be approved for the site to promote their best practices in the form of videos, articles and blogs, making it easy to find the answers online when businesses needed them most. The Qualified Consultant Hub will feature these consultants and the Project Hub will include a board for companies to post RFPs (Request for Proposals) as well as have programming to help match and manage the consultants and their projects.

Wehrley has not only taught thousands of leaders this Strategic Planning Process over the years in her practice and on her radio and TV shows, but has implemented her collaborative style of engagement in her own business when she originally formed BIZremedies in 2008 as a response to inquires from her clients and consultants she knew who were asking the question, “How might I grow?” in this economy. After test marketing the site for two years, Wehrley realized the need to evolve BIZremedies into more of a social media format that adds a focus on collaboration.

Now, BIZremedies will take social media for businesses to the next level with one-of-a-kind online collaboration hubs to help ensure that the connections create strategic growth!
